With the first of its kind in this country; The ECL (or European Console League for those of you who didn’t know) touched down in the great city of Liverpool at the BT Convention Centre between 30th July and 1st August.

Doors opened at 2pm with hundreds of our beloved MixAmps gloriously laid out at each of the gaming stations, adding a certain touch of class to the whole event.  ;-)   Over XXX hundred gamers attended, competing for £25,000 of prize money across five games:

Halo 3
Gears of War
COD4 Modern Warfare
Super Street Fighter 4
FIFA 2010

The event was a resounding success and we particularly enjoyed meeting so many of the players as many of teams dropped by our booth to say hi. We were especially impressed to see one guy sporting a rather tasty pair of bright pink A40’s!! Good man, who said real men don’t wear pink? J

Congrats to Power Gaming, Imperial eSports, Fnatic, MSI, LLL Ryan Hart, Imperial AdamW, Fuzion and Vintage for taking first place in their respective tournaments and taking home some sweet Astro Headsets along with their share of the cash prize pool.

We highly recommend that any and all gamers think seriously about attending the next ECL event.  Even if you're not into the pressure of cut-throat competition, ECL had set up another huge hall where people could bring their own Xbox’s and monitors and play to their heart’s content without nagging mothers/wives/girlfriends in the wings.   A very good call I say!

The brilliant folks at Wired Gamelife took some time to see how you as a the gamer can truly take advantage of this versatile mofo of a backpack. Yes, I totally said versatile.

To be more specific, Gus Mastrapa, a fellow Scott Pilgrim fan and PC gamer, put the Scout Backpack through the freakin' paces. The man filled it up with a laptop, books, a Nintendo DS, gaming accessories, and still had room for his A30 headset.

Back again from the depths of Upper Playground are Munk One and Sam Flores with some of their most popular art pieces now ready for your A30 Headset!

San Francisco's (SF) graffiti legend Munk One's "Dookie" speaker tag only adds more credit to his name. Local SF artist Sam Flores also came out swinging with his "Angel of Death" and "Last Samurai" speaker tags, both of which I'll have to snag for myself.

Available for a limited time, these three new tags can be purchased separately, along with the A30 UP Audio System or A30 UP Headset.

The recently launched tech review Tested.com, featuring top industry talent from Maximum PC and other outlets, have poured hours of soul-breaking effort into their latest headset roundup.

In "7 High-End Gaming Headsets Tested and Reviewed!", editor and tech extraordinaire Will Smith ripped through the leading headset manufacturer's highest-end products. Naturally, our A40 Audio System and A30 Audio System were included and pitted against the best that Tritton, Turtle Beach, Steel Series and Razer had to offer.

Now we have a strict policy where we don't knock our competitors. That's not classy, ya know? If we ever compare ourselves to a competing product, it'll be biased no matter what we do. That's why we encourage you to do some of your own research or check out our reviews archive on this very same blog.
